Angie is a 9-month-old female tricolor Jack Russell Terrier who weighs a very petite 10 pounds. This little terrier was found as a stray and brought to the local shelter. After she was adopted twice, and returned, the Dakin Humane Society reached out to us to see if we would be able to take her and place her in the proper home. We said yes and drove to pick her up
According to the two people who surrendered her back to the shelter, they said she had too much energy. Not very surprising to us being a Jack Russell puppy! When she came into our care, we realized it was not just the puppy energy, but in addition, she was not housetrained, has separation anxiety, and just not been given the chance by the adopters to settle into her new home.
Angie is great with other dogs and she’s learning to tolerate the cat. A tiny bundle of activity, she is slowly learning that outside means bathroom, and walking on a leash is a great way to be active and then relax once inside.
She is an extremely athletic pup, and levitates as she jumps! She has no concept of what she can and cannot jump on, so she is learning what timeout means, and given lots of things to keep her busy. She probably would be a great agility dog; she’s extremely fast. Angi would benefit from a fenced yard.
This little terrier is extremely loving with the people she knows, but new people must introduce themselves slowly. Because of her background as a stray and surrendered back twice to the shelter, one will need to work on her separation anxiety. Angie is not yet aware of her newfound security.
Angie is lots of fun; she’s absolutely adorable with her eclectic ears and her twinkling eyes , longing for someone who is willing to give her the time and the patience to mold her into a wonderful Jack Russell companion. Might that be you? Apply to Adopt Angie
