Athena is a tan and white female Jack Russell Terrier with an undocked tail we believe to be about 10 years old. This pretty JRT weighs a sturdy 12 pounds.
Athena was surrendered to a local shelter from a situation where there were too many dogs. The staff reached out to us to help them with a senior Jack Russell who needed medical attention. We gladly stepped in because Athena is the sweetest JRT and deserves a loving home for the rest of her years.
In excellent health except badly in need of a dental, she will be getting a pretty smile before she goes to her forever home. We do believe that she is deaf.
Athena has sprung to life here at the rescue. This girl’s energy and exuberance out on the snowy agility field is very satisfying, considering this dog was most likely abandoned and then stuck in a hoarding situation. With no interest in toys at the moment, she loves to do zoomies given the chance and accepts affection with slow chin and chest rubs. We are pleased that Athena is opening up to more attention since she came to Jacks Galore.
She appears to be housetrained. Athena rides quietly in the car and appears not to mind the crate. She is a well-behaved quiet dog but has energy and loves to walk and be engaged with her person. Athena came in with another dog but appears to be neutral with her roommate so she could most likely live well with another male dog.
We are of course assuming she had no issues with the multitude of other dogs in the home she originally came from.
